Purpose

First, I think it’s fair to talk about the purpose of my sticker shop as a whole. During the pandemic (like so many other businesses), I began investing time, money, and skill into creating an online sticker shop from home. The overall purpose was to produce stickers around luxury as a creative outlet. At the time, I aspired to achieve upward mobility in life. Therefore, I needed empowerment/affirmations that confirmed I was deserving of the best. So for anyone who can relate to transitions in life that involve changing your mindset, I made this business to specifically relate to this evolution.

I’m still a beginner but as I’ve created more stickers, they’ve included a plethora of styles and designs like the signature Frenchie mascot, text stickers, crystals, and much more. I’m creating what feels good and what makes Lux Doodles stand out from the rest.

My social media post draft

My process of making stickers goes something like this:

  1. Brainstorm using my iPad, text phrases, purses, and Frenchie Styles to include in the collection.
  2. Gather references and sketch up the final ideas
  3. Create the official graphics in Adobe Illustrator (including the white border around the sticker)
  4. Create the social media and website promo graphics. These include:
    • Instagram, TikTok posts and videos
    • 3D Product Photography images
    • Website Banners
  5. Upload the sticker graphics in Cricut Design Space
  6. Organize them and then print
  7. Add permanent matte or shiny laminate
  8. Use the Cricut Maker to cut
  9. Inspect the quality
  10. Take official photos of the stickers
  11. Add them to the website inventory

Things that could go wrong

With having a business, there is so much intention that goes into it. There is marketing, quality of products, and motivation. With marketing, it takes proactive research and consistency to find the right formula for promoting your business successfully. Creating products is also trial and error when it includes keeping your machines and equipment in tip-top shape, admin tasks like accounting and organization, being precise with execution, and maintaining durability. As a passion/hobby, running a sticker shop can cause you to lose steam or motivation. The key is to stay busy and keep goals in mind.

I throughly enjoy making stickers and will continue to keep my customers in mind for things that they like/want to see. Thank for reading more in-depth into running my business. It takes a lot, but it is so worth it.
